Lubbock neighbourhoods we work in
A garage door job in a 1920s bungalow district is a different job from one in a 1990s subdivision, and the difference is rarely the door. It is build era, framing, opening size and access. These pages say what to expect in each part of the city.
Tech Terrace
Built largely between the mid-1930s and the late 1940s south of Texas Tech, with brick bungalows and Tudor cottages on alley-served lots.
South Overton
One of the oldest surviving residential districts in the city, built out mostly between 1910 and the 1940s immediately south of downtown.
North Overton
Almost entirely rebuilt in the 2000s as a planned redevelopment, so despite the historic name the housing here is new.
Heart of Lubbock
The central neighbourhoods built out between the 1930s and the 1950s, north and west of Texas Tech.
Guadalupe
North Lubbock, one of the city's oldest established neighbourhoods, with housing stock largely predating 1950.
Arnett Benson
North-west Lubbock, built out mostly between the 1940s and the 1950s during the post-war expansion.
Chatman Hill
East Lubbock, a long-established neighbourhood with most of its housing stock built before 1960.
Bayless-Atkins
East and south-east Lubbock, built largely through the 1950s.
Maxey Park
Central-south Lubbock around the park, built out mostly in the 1950s.
Clapp Park
South-central Lubbock, developed largely in the 1950s around the park.
Wheelock
Built out through the 1940s and 1950s west of Texas Tech, with a mix of period cottages and post-war ranch stock.
Caprock
South-central Lubbock, built out mostly through the 1960s.
Melonie Park
South Lubbock, developed through the 1960s and 1970s as the city pushed south.
Lakeridge
South-west Lubbock, built out largely through the 1970s and 1980s around the golf course and playa lakes.
The Quaker Avenue Corridor
The 1980s and 1990s subdivision growth along and west of Quaker Avenue.
Vintage Township
Post-2000 growth in far south-west Lubbock, including planned developments with their own design standards.
